Life at Time

Green Space. Storage Space. Family Space. Personal Space. More Space.

Kyle, Jessica and Liam thought their compact little condo would work for another year or two. But then again, they didn’t expect the family to grow quite so soon. Surprise! With the news that Emma was on the way, Jessica got down to some serious online shopping for a new home.

When she found Time, Kyle thought it was too good to be true. “Three bedrooms AND a bonus room? A double garage AND a driveway? A patio, a backyard AND next to a park? All that in Walnut Grove, AND we can afford it?”

Jessica had to remind him that she comes from a long line of women with legendary shopping savvy. He said in that case could she please start looking for a good deal on the mother of all barbecues, because he has big plans for that big patio…

Kyle loves the bonus room that could be either a woodworking studio or a bike shop. Liam is excited about going on the swings, running after squirrels, and playing with Time’s other kids. He giggles when the grass tickles his bare toes in his own backyard. Barb gets a kick out of him and laughs every time she hears him; she thinks it’s great that there are so many young families at Time—and even better that she doesn’t have to wipe a single nose or take anyone to the potty.

When Ashley takes Ralph for a run, they often meet up with Jess and Liam (who shrieks with joy as Ralph’s puppy tongue licks the peanut butter off his face). Liam’s funny little voice makes Ashley’s clock tick louder. Maybe it’s time to get another dog…

As for Jessica, she looks forward to pushing a stroller along the walking the trails, and loves the fact that there are three play areas to entertain kids of varying ages. For a long time she’s been dreaming about being able to give her kids the kind of childhood she had: trees, bicycle-riding, a wading pool in the backyard, barbecues on summer evenings. But most of all she can’t wait to stretch out and enjoy the luxury of all that space to call her own.
