ParkLane Named Best Homebuilder in Canada

We’re proud to announce that ParkLane Homes won 3 awards at the 2010 Canadian Homebuilder’s Association (CHBA) SAM Awards on Saturday February 26th, more than any other homebuilder! Of the three awards, we also won the biggest and the best: the Grand SAM Award. New Mortgage Rules to be  in Effect on March 18, 2011

Hey – you there! Are you aware that new rules are soon to be in place for government-backed insured mortgages? If you’re interesting in buying a home, we suggest that you start by being pre-approved for a mortgage and locking in a rate and amortization agreement before March 18, 2011! The new rules will affect you if you are planning on applying for a government-backed insured mortgage – that is, if you have less than 20% for your down payment. The Federal Government plans to reduce the maximum amortization period from 35 years to 30 years. The adjustments to the mortgage insurance guarantee framework will come into effect on March 18, 2011.

What does this mean for you? A longer amortization period allows you to buy “more home” now, as you can make smaller monthly payments over a longer period of time. Secure your mortgage before March 18, 2011 to qualify under the old rules, allowing you to take advantage of the 35 year amortization period.
